Stainless Steel 440 Bars are high-carbon, martensitic stainless steels known for their remarkable hardness and strength. Typically, their composition consists of 16–18% chromium, 0.95–1.20% carbon, up to 1% manganese, 1% silicon, along with trace amounts of molybdenum and nickel. These bars boast a tensile strength of about 740 MPa and a yield strength of roughly 450 MPa, achieving hardness levels of up to 60 HRC after heat treatment.
