Stainless Steel 405 Pipes are mainly made up of iron and chromium (11.5–14.5%), with a touch of aluminum to enhance oxidation resistance and manage grain growth. They also contain trace amounts of carbon, manganese, silicon, sulfur, and phosphorus. As part of the ferritic stainless steel family, these pipes provide moderate corrosion resistance and outstanding resistance to high-temperature scaling. Their mechanical properties include a tensile strength ranging from 380 to 550 MPa and a yield strength of about 205 MPa. SS 405 pipes are magnetic, cannot be hardened through heat treatment, and offer good weldability and thermal stability under cyclic heating conditions.
