Stainless Steel 348 Sheets and Plates are stabilized austenitic stainless steel alloys with the composition of chromium (17–19%), nickel (9–13%), and niobium, which improves corrosion resistance intergranularly and thermal stability. Other constituents are manganese, silicon, and trace carbon that add strength and hardness. The mechanical properties of these plates are excellent with tensile strength of approximately 515 MPa, yield strength of around 205 MPa, and elongation of up to 40%. The alloy possesses a Brinell hardness of around 217 and shows outstanding performance in high-temperature service, qualifying it for use in demanding industrial settings.
