Stainless Steel 347 Nuts are manufactured from columbium (niobium) stabilized austenitic stainless steel alloy with an approximate content of 17–19% chromium and 9–13% nickel. Columbium addition avoids carbide precipitation under welding and high-temperature exposure, which gives better resistance to corrosion. These nuts have mechanical characteristics including tensile strength of approximately 75 ksi, yield strength of 30 ksi, and elongation of 40%. They possess good creep strength and oxidation resistance that enables them to be used for high-temperature service and for conditions where frequent thermal cycling is encountered.
