Stainless Steel 347 and 347H are stabilized austenitic stainless alloys with a base composition of iron, chromium (17–19%), nickel (9–12%), and titanium (5xC to 0.60%). Trace concentrations of manganese, silicon, and carbon are also present. Stainless Steel 347 exhibits very good resistance to intergranular corrosion, whereas 347H with an increase in the carbon content has improved strength when used at high temperatures. Mechanical properties are tensile strength of up to 515 MPa, yield strength of approximately 205 MPa, and elongation of a minimum of 40%. These are suitable for stringent, high-temperature industrial applications.
