Stainless Steel 317 Coils contain about 18–20% chromium, 11–15% nickel, and 3–4% molybdenum, offering increased resistance to crevice corrosion, pitting, and acidic environments relative to 316. Having more carbon than 317L, they are stronger but less weldable. The coils tend to offer tensile strength at about 75 ksi, yield strength at about 30 ksi, and elongation of about 35–40%.
