Stainless Steel 316L Fasteners contain 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum with very low carbon content (maximum 0.03%) to increase intergranular corrosion resistance after welding. These fasteners generally offer a tensile strength of approximately 70–75 ksi, yield strength of about 25–30 ksi, and good elongation and ductility. The presence of molybdenum increases pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chloride-rich and acidic conditions.
