Stainless Steel 316H Fasteners are constructed from an austenitic stainless steel alloy with 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, 2–3% molybdenum, and increased carbon levels (over 0.04%) compared to normal 316. The higher carbon content improves strength and resistance to creep at high temperatures. These fasteners will generally exhibit a tensile strength of about 75 ksi, yield strength of 30 ksi, and satisfactory elongation and toughness. The composition confers superior pitting, crevice corrosion, and high-temperature oxidation resistance.
